Smoothtalkinrascal made his debut at Newbury yesterday and ran a fantastic race, to be beaten only a length by 'Englishman' trained by Charlie Hills.
He broke well and hit the front 2 furlongs out, and was only worn down late on after running a little green in the closing stages on testing ground.
Trainer Brian Meehan sees him as an exciting prospect for the season, as does jockey Shane Kelly who feels he should be kept to 5 furlongs for now, and with better ground he will come on hugely for the run.
After yesterday's promising debut, we have high hopes for the season ahead, and look forward to hearing more from Brian Meehan in his plans for the Rascal.
